Thrift Store Find - Our Generation Battat

I found another doll at my local thrift store. She is an older Our Generation Battat doll. The price was $1.99. I thought if nothing else, she'd make a good model for clothes.

When I took her hair down, it was very frizzy.

I used a flat iron to smooth it down a bit.

She had a cute face but her lip color was a little bright for her.

I tried to get a more natural color by mixing some acrylic paints. I played around with the colors until I got a good shade. I painted it right over her existing lip color and later added a clear coat of varnish. I was happy with it in the end.

I think she looks much better.

Here she is all dressed. I think she will make a good model as well a great addition to my 18" doll collection.

Barbie Stuff from a Collectibles Show

I recently, visited a collectibles show (Frank & Son). It's basically a giant warehouse for vendors that sell stuff like baseball cards, comics and things of that nature.

I go once in a while for fun. They are only open two days a week and there is lots to see.

I've seen doll vendors there before who usually sell collectible boxed Barbie's.

But this was the first time that I noticed this particular doll vendor. She had baskets of (pre-owned) Barbie stuff at great prices!  I was so excited and she allowed me to take a photo of her booth for my blog. Unfortunately my phone did not take clear pictures.

I bought lots of Barbie clothes and shoes.
Everything was 50 cents so I got everything in the photo for 8 bucks. And I'm pretty sure that purple polkadot headband belongs to a Lauryce, Hearts for Hearts doll. This is great because I got mine used and she didn't come with one.
All in all, it was fun and I got some great stuff.
